After four flights and 31 hours, we finally made it back to Nola on Sunday. My parents were at the airport to surprise me, and Jonathan’s mom and Walker were there with a ‘Welcome Home’ sign (in English and Thai!) My parents left yesterday and we’ve been recovering from jetlag.
Even though our country has few fans abroad, I am thrilled about being back in the good ol’ US of A. Stay tuned because we still have more posts about our travels coming (since I was a blog slacker while we were away.)

At the “Tran Duong House,” Mr. Duong showed us around his 19th Century house and told us stories of how the house has been in his family for 3 or 4 generations. His father was sent to re-education camps (prison) after the Vietnam war for 8 years, but was subsequently able to move to the U.S. He came back to his home in Hoi An just before he passed away, about 4 years ago.

They were serving the food for a sit-down party that we did not participate in but Jonathan was attempting to get some handouts. He was not successful.
